Chatham Royal Marine Cadets
Thursday 31st October 2013. Chatham Royal Marine Cadets had a busy and inspiring day driving down to Portsmouth to visit Area Office and the Royal Marine Museum and then back to Chatham for Rock Climbing
Lance corporal Honour, Lance corporal Foster, Marine Cadet 1st Class Brown, Marine Cadet 2nd Class Mitchell visited the Royal Marine Museum in Portsmouth with Colour Sergeant Stuart Carpenter and Sergeant Alf Champion. All had a great time learning about the corps history and some of the deeds and legends who have made their history such a proud one.
Then whilst in town they popped in to Southern Area Office and were greeted by the Deputy Area Officer Major Andy Henderson RM Rtd. Having spent some time having a chat they then met the Area Officer Commander John Greene. Not missing an opportunity the cadets then lined up for a photo opportunity before decamping back to the Unit Headquarters in Chatham. Where the Commanding Officer Colour Sergeant Stuart Carpenter made them a piping hot curry lunch with secret recipe.
Full and rested the Cadets then made their way up to the Royal Engineers Gymnasium based in RSME Brompton for some indoor rock climbing on their Traversing Wall.
CO C/Sgt Carpenter said “it’s just another good day at the office for the Chatham Royal Marine Cadets”.
